paper collage

I love the inaccuracy, incidental and often distorted shapes that torn paper produces. It can capture the essence of a person. Knowing this process can never produce an accurate likeness gives me a freedom to play.

It is also very quick and the shapes can be moved around before fixing them. Dancing, shopping, being at the hairdressers seemed to be activities which lend themselves to the tear-out process. Humans are such funny looking things!
